Abstract

|
Epidermal cysts are the most common benign tumor of the skin. Conventional epidermal cysts are spherical masses of the skin that are slow-growing, soft or hard upon palpation, and less than 5 cm in the greatest diameter. Although Epidermal cysts exceeding 5 cm in size have been previously reported, they are rare. Therefore, in large Epidermal cysts, a thorough preoperative evalution with image modalities such as US and MRI is recommended to determine a malignant change. In this case report, we presented a rare case of a giant epidermal cyst in the perianal area that was treated with surgical extirpation and primary wound closure.
